Mediations of Our Hearts

Aug 9, 2026

In this week’s sermon, Rachel Burnham explores what it means to meditate and why it matters for our faith. Our brains are constantly meditating on something—even when we aren’t consciously aware of it. The question is: What are we choosing to fill our minds with?

Rachel encourages us to intentionally turn our thoughts toward God’s Word and allow Scripture to shape our hearts and minds. During the sermon, we experienced a real-time example of what meditating on Scripture can look like. We read several chapters from Psalms aloud and then heard them repeated in different Bible translations, giving us the opportunity to slow down, listen closely, and reflect on God’s Word.

This week’s message is an invitation to be intentional about what occupies our thoughts and to make Scripture a central part of our meditation. As we spend time in God’s Word, we create space to know Him more deeply and allow His truth to guide our lives.
