The Lord is My Shepherd...

The Lord is My Shepherd...

These are well known words from Psalm 23. I'm sure some of you reading this have these words stored up in your hearts and the Spirit of God brings it to your minds when you need this truth most. And today, I just want to remind you of it again..

Jesus Christ is your True Shepherd. He is the One who guides us and leads us. He is our only Protector and Provider of all our needs. It is the Lord Christ that restores our souls. No self help book, guru, modern teacher, spa treatment, beverage or snack... No-thing restores our soul or brings refreshing to our bodies like He does. Nothing and no one can gently guide us into pleasant places and the path of life. Jesus alone walks with us in the deepest valleys of death and darkness. He brings us through it all. His Presence and love casts out all fear. He corrects, disciplines and comforts us through His word and truth. He prepares places for us at tables where we don't think we belong. He anoints us with the Holy Spirit and in that union our lives overflow with His grace and mercy. His goodness follows us all the days of lives. We will be with Him forever.

Don't forget. It is all about Him. No one else. No other thing. Jesus is the fulfillment of everything we need. Our hearts are that Jesus, Christus Victor, Emmanuel the Lord with us gets all the glory and honor and praise.

May your spirit, soul and body become fully aware of all that He is and all that you are in Christ.

I encourage you to come to First Friday tomorrow night at 6:30 to break bread, commune, worship, pray and hear the scriptures with the Body of Christ. There's something sweet that happens when the lovers of God gather to pour out their adoration on Him together.

Sunday morning we will be watching together the service called "A story of the Vineyard in song". Make no mistake the Lord is the Shepherd of this Vineyard Movement. I can't wait to experience this with you all. We will begin promptly at 10am.

for His glory,

Rachel Burnham

The Lord is my shepherd;
I have what I need.
He lets me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside quiet waters.
 He renews my life;
he leads me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
 Even when I go through the darkest valley,
I fear no danger,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff—they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
as long as I live.
